It means that patient presented in the emergency department with a neurological complaint and when the MRI results show, there was no finding in it after sometimes the patient completely recovered from that neurological complaint.

The patient was fine after sometime which means that transient ischemic took place to the brain, after some time there was ischemic to the brain, and after that ischemic attack was resolved within some time and there was no damage to the brain, and the patient recovered from it within some time so that is Transient Ischemic Attack.

Just have an overview we will find an old definition of it:

“Ischemic (usually embolic) neurological event with symptoms lasting less than 24 hours and typically symptoms lasting less than 1 hour

This definition provided an old limit a time limit that patient will develop a neurological event it will recover from it in less than 24 hours and typically symptoms will be less than 1 hour.

The definition is provided some time limits but now all the time limits have been removed. There is only ischemic get reversed and the patient recovered from it, without a permanent brain injury.

PRESENTATION OF THE TRANSIENT ISCHEMIC ATTACK

Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) may last minutes, and symptoms often resolve before the patient presents to the clinician.

When a patient brings to an emergency department, patient had a neurological complaint and the time they reached to the hospital till their neurological complaint has resolved, that is the classical presentation of Transient Ischemic Attack.

DIFFICULTIES DURING ISCHEMIC ATTACK

Patient might suffer from motor complaint like weakness paralysis of one side of body, surfed speech, facing difficulty understanding others. Patient may suffer from vision problems like Amaurosis Fugax, unable to see anything feeling totally blind, it mostly occurs due to Retinal Artery Occlusion.

Crescendo TIA is also very harmful disease during this attack, it basically occurs when a patient is having multiple attacks of TIA one after another.

IMPORTANT:

Without intervention 1 out of 12 patients of TIA will have a stroke within a week of TIA.
